The Non Profit BioHostel

of the Corcovado Foundation

We host both eco-conscious tourists and volunteers that choose to make a difference in the world

About Us

A space created by the Corcovado Foundation, a NGO that has promoted environmental education and sustainable development in the Osa Peninsula for over 20 years.

As a tourist or a volunteer, you can enjoy all the world-renowned attractions, such as Corcovado National Park or diving at Caño Island! You can also enjoy the local tours that the area has to offer, support some of the fantastic local natural attractions, and help local families protect the rainforest in their land.

Our volunteers are helping us restore land, promote a change of paradigm by promoting regenerative agriculture among local families, support sea turtle conservation, and much more.

Experience the magic of Regenerative Tourism!

What you can do?

Discover our classic tours

Our classic tours are gateways to the finest nature attractions that the Osa Peninsula has to offer.

Prepare to experience 2.5% of the world’s species crammed into an area smaller than New York City!
All of our tours use tried-and-tested, expert, biligual guides and the most responsible tour operators in the region.

Discover our community-based tours

These affordable, specialty tours reveal hidden nature attractions that you can only find off-the-beaten-track.

The best part is that these are genuine eco-tours that benefit local families, create jobs and promote conservation.
Ask hostel staff about which tours are the flavor of the month.

Volunteering Opportunities

We are protecting sea turtles, planting trees, promoting regenerative agriculture and ecosystem restoration in highly degraded places in what used to be a virgin rain forest in the South Pacific of Costa Rica.

The foundation’s volunteers learn about and support the local community in different regenerative practices: improving food security, protecting the water supply, and restoring biodiversity threatened by human and climate disruption.

What our visitors
say about us.

Hi there! This is a bit late but we just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our stay at your Hostel, we would give it at 10/10 rating and would definitely come back! Thank you for all the help.

I like volunteering because I feel like I help the community and nature. The place is very comfortable and the attention is exceptional, super friendly people. Lots of learning with each reforestation and compost task.

Enjoyed tremendously!

We enjoyed our stay tremendously! Very friendly and helpful staff, great price, very clean and beautiful. A river flows through the property which is amazing. The manager arranged our many tours, which all were very organized and excellent! He even provides his own tour of the area including lunch, which we really enjoyed!

Enjoyed tremendously!

Authentic experience

"Love this place. Very simple and relaxed. It's great being in the smaller village of El Progresso with a local family. A much more authentic experience."

Best experience!

For me, Corcovado Foundation has been one of the best experiences. Nowhere else I had the opportunity to see turtles and getting here was a dream.
